Severe Weather Possible Thursday

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will persist over the next few hours across portions of western Kentucky and middle Tennessee. These storms have stayed below severe limits over the last few days and that looks to remain the case tonight. Storms will most likely reach a minimum in coverage by daybreak and slowly begin to build through about 10 a.m. tomorrow. Storms will likely remain isolated to scattered early in the morning becoming more numerous by early afternoon.

An upper level disturbance which is pushing along a surface cold front will begin to approach the area by the afternoon. Storms should become relatively well organized by early afternoon and severe weather is most likely in the form of damaging winds, during the afternoon and early evening hours across the area on Thursday.

The frontal boundary should clear the region overnight Thursday providing the area with a much less humid and cooler with highs in the mid 80s by Friday and for the weekend.
